Celebrity Guests, Trivia, and more, with Um, Actually

The gameshow Beat the Geeks was created by former College Humor head writer Mike Trapp, premiered in 2015, and mixes nerdom, celebrity guests, trivia, and bragging rights. Um, actually, the show is called Um, Actually. That is correct!!

Now in its ninth season on Dropout, Um, Actually is an AMAZING game show that tasks contestants with evaluating a statement related to everything pop culture, video games, sci-fi, etc., and indicate what part of it is incorrect.  If they are correct, they get a point. Pretty simple! But the most exciting part is that we’re announcing that the show will take center stage at MagicCon: Las Vegas on Saturday, October 26th from 6-7PM PT!

Featuring the hilarious duo of host Ify Nwadiwe, and fact checker, Brian David Gilbert, this live show of Um, Actually will test Magic: The Gathering knowledge of our contestants from the community which you all know and love!

Ify said, “Many have asked for it, but now I’m finally doing it. Bringing the most pedantic game show to the most pedantic nerds. Excited to see everyone there!”

Lua Stardust, a Magic content creator and co-host of the ScryBabies channel on YouTube is bringing her A-game to the table. She was hyped for the show and said, “As much as I love Magic, I am equally as bad at trivia haha, but I feel like Um, Actually may be the one time I am successful. I’m a huge Dropout fan so getting the chance to participate in Um, Actually with Ify & some incredible people in Magic is a dream come true!”

In addition to the game show, Brian David-Marshall will be joining as an additional fact-checker! He's a huge fan of Um, Actually, and said, “I have been involved with Magic for 30 years now and I am excited to bring my years as a (semi) competitive player, tournament organizer, coverage reporter, and Magic historian to some practical use as a fact checker for the UM ACTUALLY live episode at MagicCon: Las Vegas! While I sadly don't have all my cards from those 30 years I do have a deep well of trivia and stories about the game and that's what is really valuable right? RIGHT?”

There are a ton of activities and events to participate in and watch at MagicCon: Las Vegas, but there will be none quite like this!
