Taste of Ticketed Play

One of the best parts of a MagicCon is the build-your-own-adventure feel of it, and MagicCon: Las Vegas is no different! Between the artists, panels, creators, and events, no two people have the exact same MagicCon experience, and that’s all part of the fun.

But whether it’s your first or your eight MagicCon, the pages of possibilities can be a little daunting! Ticketed Play events are already selling out, so make sure you look through everything Ticketed Play has to offer and get registered for your favorites soon! We’re highlighting a few particularly exciting events to kick off your weekend.

$100K Limited Open

Do you dream of the Pro Tour or have the competitive drive to see how you fare against the best? Do you want to test your mettle in the premier ticketed play event at MagicCon? Then please let me introduce you to the $100K Limited Open!

On Day 1 you’ll open six packs of Duskmourn: House of Horror and build a 40-card deck. Sealed is an incredible experience that’s never the same twice, and you’ll get to pilot your creation across the next eight rounds of best-of-three Swiss games.

Players with 18 or more match points then advance to Day 2, where you’ll sit down for two three-round Duskmourn drafts. After that comes the cut to the Top 8, which will draft and play on Sunday!

The $100k Limited Open is the biggest competitive event at MagicCon: Las Vegas. It features a $100,000 prize pool (of course), as well as at least eight invitations to the first Pro Tour of 2025. First place will walk away with $20,000, and cash prizes are awarded all the way down to 128th place. All players who finish with 36 match points or higher will earn a Pro Tour invite. There’s nothing quite like testing your Sealed deck building and play skills against Magic’s hungriest competitors!

Friday Night Magic

Just because you’re on the road doesn't mean you have to miss out on celebrating our favorite weekly way to play Magic! Whether you have a craving for Commander, a passion for Pioneer, a desire to draft, or are in a mood for Modern, there’s a FNM at MagicCon: Las Vegas for you.

Bring your favorite deck in your format of choice (or don’t, there are Limited options too!) and play three rounds of Swiss while you get to know other players and partake in one of Magic’s most iconic traditions, all in a competitive but very friendly atmosphere. There are promo boosters, prize tickets, and, of course, a lot of fun to be had!

Secret Lair Showdown

Revel in the exquisite, one-of-a-kind Secret Lair Showdown Spell Pierce art just by participating in this special Modern event! You can expect up to five rounds of competitive Modern play, an opportunity to win Secret Lairs and Duskmourn: House of Horror booster boxes, and an exclusive Spell Pierce just for playing!

Secret Lair brings unique, gorgeous, and often unexpected art to classic Magic cards, and this year’s iteration of the Secret Lair Showdown is no different. Each year of the showdown features a different set of cards, and this year is fast coming to a close!

The Top 8 finishers in each Secret Lair Showdown qualify for the Secret Lair Showdown Championship on Sunday, where they’ll have the chance to win one of the extremely limited Secret Lair Showdown cards made just for this event.

The Professor Presents: ReRelease Chaos

Love the frenzy of chaos draft but looking for a fresh new flavor? Or do you have something to prove at Tolarian Community College? Look no further than The Professor’s ReRelease Chaos! You’ll get the chance to smash together two completely different prerelease kits from different sets and face off against players who have done the same. 

It’s always a mystery what your opponent is playing, and that’s never more true than in a chaos event. So embrace the surprise and prepare for three rounds of play that prioritizes friendliness and fun.

Sealed and Stacked!

Take a pile of boosters as big as your head and build a Sealed deck for a thrilling, single elimination tournament! Play in Sealed and Stacked and you’ll crack open a whopping fourteen booster packs spanning the last two years of Magic! 

Use what you open to build a Sealed deck where mice can be outlaws, Eldrazi can work side by side with detectives, and Phyrexians can explore in the Caverns of Ixalan. It’s a wild, mixed-up, and powerful world out there, just waiting for you to tap some surprising synergies.

We know Sealed and Stacked players love boosters, so the prizes are all booster all the time! Starting at eighteen Duskmourn: House of Horror play boosters for three wins and climbing all the way to three play booster boxes for five wins, doing well will leave you absolutely swimming in packs.

Turbo 2HG Sealed – Mystery Booster

Magic is always more fun with a friend, and two-headed giant is all about taking that literally! End your MagicCon weekend with a friendly, fast-paced flurry of deck building and battling with your friend and teammate by your side.

When you join a two-headed giant event, you’ll be building decks and battling right alongside the friend you sign up with. In this event, you’ll build two separate decks from your single shared pool of twelve Mystery Boosters, then share a life total and a goal when you sit down for your match against another pair of players.

Mystery Boosters pull from over 1200 cards and include fun and powerful play testing cards that can’t be found anywhere else!
